DUBBO RSL SWIM SCHOOL

All Ages and Abilities!

At Dubbo RSL Aquatic and Health Club, we believe swimming is a life-saving skill that should be learned year-round.

Our Learn to Swim Program is designed to assist in the transition from assisted to independent swimming while prioritising water safety at every stage.

We offer classes for babies, children, and adults, ensuring a tailored experience for each swimmer’s ability level.

Our indoor, heated 25m pool ensures that lessons continue regardless of the season, so your child’s progress is never interrupted.

SWIM CASUALLY FOR ONLY $2* if you are enrolled in our Learn to Swim Program — $2 covers the child and parent for levels blue, red and green only.

Our 10-Week Learn to Swim Program

At Dubbo RSL Swim School, we are committed to providing high-quality swimming lessons that help children develop confidence, skills, and a love for the water.

Class Adjustments in Early Weeks – During the first few weeks of term, our instructors may move your child to a different level, class, or time to ensure they are in the best group for their ability and progress. This ensures they receive the most effective learning experience.

Respect Our Instructors & Swim School Rules – Our dedicated instructors work hard to create a structured and positive learning environment. To help lessons run smoothly:

✔ Arrive at least five minutes before your session

✔ Wait in the grandstand until your instructor calls your child over

✔ Goggles/Caps on and ready to go!

✔ No swimming in the lanes or on the steps before lessons

✔ Parents/guardians must remain in the facility for the entire 30-minute lesson – this means staying poolside, not using the gym or other areas

✔ Actively supervise your child throughout the lesson

Week 10 – Water Safety Week! – We finish off every term with a water safety component, an essential part of learning to swim. This helps children understand how to stay safe in and around water, practice survival skills, and build confidence in real-life water scenarios.

By committing to consistent lessons and following our swim school guidelines, your child will get the most out of their swimming journey!

POOL SUPERVISION – YOUR SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY

Our 8-lane lap swimming pool is not a lifeguarded pool. While we provide a safe and welcoming environment, it is the responsibility of parents and guardians to actively supervise their children at all times.

A CHILD CANNOT BE LEFT ALONE UNLESS THEY ARE 14YRS OR OLDER

Active Supervision – What Does It Mean?

– Stay within arm’s reach if your child is not a confident swimmer
If your child cannot swim independently, you must enter the water with them
– Drowning can happen in seconds – never rely on flotation devices or noodles as a substitute for supervision
– Watching from the side is NOT active supervision

– Don’t assume it won’t happen to you – we’ve seen parents have to jump in fully clothed when they thought their child was safe!

– Recreational Lanes:
We have two designated recreational lanes for families, rehabilitation, and gentle exercise. These are not play areas – children must be actively supervised.

POOL RESPECT & ETIQUETTE – HELP US KEEP IT SAFE FOR EVERYONE

No Swimming in Lesson Lanes or on Steps

  • Lesson lanes are strictly for swimming lessons only.
  • Steps must remain clear during lesson times.

Lap Lane Etiquette

  • Shared lanes – if passing another swimmer, swim past on the right
  • Stick to the left when swimming
  • Check both directions before moving across lanes
  • Lane availability is posted at reception

Recreational Activities & Aerobics

  • Must be done only in the designated recreational lanes
  • No running or horseplay in or around the pool

Patience & Preparedness

  • Be mindful of others sharing the pool
  • Bring your goggles and a respectful attitude

Thank you for respecting our rules and helping us create a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone!
